The PY series lasers use a green beam, where visibility of red laser light is not sufficient. This can arise from several conditions, for example the surface is a hot metallic or the lighting in the working environment is very bright. Green light is more suitable than red light for these conditions, because human eyes are up to five times more sensitive to green than red light.
The laser beam is collimated for optimum line width in the working distance. The new SUPERLINE optics allow the centre of the brightness distribution to be set anywhere along the length of the laser line and the line width can be manually adjusted as well.
The robust housing is made from coated aluminium and this protects the laser, electronic circuitry and precision optics. The Peltier-Cooler, marked by the black fins, takes care of the correct working temperature and this in turn prolongs the life expectancy of the unit. The temperature is monitored internally and the laser switches itself off in case of high temperatures, to protect the laser source from damage.
