New Developments in May

1st May 2008

Welcome to the May edition of the Scantron newsletter. This month: driving forward our new laser speed and length system, interesting software developments for Aeroel, a new face joins the sales team and how to get a seven ton non-contact laser measuring system to America.

As you are aware from last month’s newsletter we have recently released our new µSpeed system for speed and length measurement. In addition to its release we have created a new information brochure to give a general overview of the µSpeed and its application process, which our sales team has been successfully distributing to paper mills and carpet manufacturers across the country. If you have a need for speed and length measurement within your industry, whether it is for a new application or if you simply feel that your old contact tachometers are no longer cost efficient then please feel free to view the new µSpeed, speed and length measuring system via this link or click here to download our new information brochure. Alternatively you can contact us and we would be happy to discuss the µSpeed system and your requirements in detail.

Interesting new developments in software for our Aeroel range in May with the release of Gauge Scan X. This new software will allow the incorporation of multiple Aeroel units on one operating system which can be networked, programmed and then data can be collected, all through one PC. The software has only applied to the Aeroel Explorline range but the bridging programs are currently being written so that it can be used on the entire Aeroel range.

Scantron would like to welcome a new face to the sales team this month. Jonathan Ironside-Smith has joined us as a Sales Engineer and will be heading up the sale of our new µSpeed gauges. Jonathan has come to us with a BSc in Engineering and a wealth of experience from within the engineering sector which will help benefit both our sales team and our customers.

Finally, how do you get a seven ton non-contact laser measuring system to America? Well by holding your breath and hoping for the best could be one answer but the real answer is ‘with a surprising amount of ease”. In April’s newsletter we reported on the sale of a Proscan Magnum to Alcoa in America and in the middle of last month work was completed and it was time to deliver. After a hair raising lift from the work shop to the transporter it was driven to cargo ship and sent on its way to its new home. For all the pictures click here.
